Mitchell’s Brewery was established in 1983, and has become an icon on the Garden Route. Mitchell’s Ales are unpasteurised, live ales, produced locally in Knysna. Our beers are produced using the finest available ingredients and a carefully selected amalgam of British mashing and German lagering techniques to produce ales uniquely suited to South African conditions.

We pride ourselves on the fact that our outstanding draught beers are produced using the finest local ingredients. Our portfolio is made up of 6 draught beers. Our beers are low in alcohol, and high in taste!!

 

 

Forester's Lager

 

 

 FORESTER'S LAGER (3.6% Alcohol)

A refreshing Pilsner-type beer, light both in colour & body. This delicious beer is both sweet yet light on the palate and has a faint aroma. Foresters is lightly hopped and is very invigorating on a hot day. 

 

Bosuns Bitter

 

 

 
BOSUNS BITTER (3.6% Alcohol)
 
The first "REAL ALE" produced in South Africa. Modeled on the line of the English Yorkshire Bitter, Bosuns is not too bitter but full of body and character. Bosun’s has much to offer those who are looking for flavour.

 

 

90 Shilling Ale

 

 

NINETY SHILLING ALE (5.0% Alcohol) 

Mitchell’s most awarded beer. A heavy spicy ale, with a gloriously round, full palate. Let this traditional Scottish Ale take you back in time as you savour the complex aromatic notes and full - bodied amber glow. Do, however treat it with respect!

 

Raven Stout

 

RAVEN STOUT (5.0% Alcohol)

Black, full bodied, and very flavorful. A medium strength stout, very smooth on the palate and exhibiting a pronounced bitter and distinct hop aroma, a well balanced milk stout - great for a winter's evening or any other time!
